Quimixto
The medium grain sandy beach is lined by local seafood and Mexican food eateries where you’ll find simple, rustic, tasty local dishes. The crystal clear waters are popular with snorkelers and scuba divers.
The most popular tourist attraction in Quimixto is the waterfalls, located about a mile inland following the La Puerta River’s edges.
Horses are rented out for all those not willing to hike the distance (some 20 minutes). During the rainy season, be careful with the currents at the waterfall.
