Lynn Magnet grew up sailing with her family in New England. She took up the sport in earnest when she moved to the Bay Area in 1979. She was a very active racer both skippering and crewing on a variety of boats as small as a 10 foot mirror dinghy to as large as a 52 foot Spencer. She got the cruising bug and chartered in such places as Turkey, Australia, the Bahamas, and the Virgin Islands. She went back to her racing roots in 2002 when she participated in the Club Nautique’s Pacific Cup entry, Free Spirit.

Lynn joined the CN teaching staff in 1997. She holds a USCG license and a US Sailing certificate through basic cruising. She enjoys the enthusiasm of the beginning students just learning the sport and the more advanced students who want to refine their skills. Most importantly, she finds it quite rewarding and fun to share her love of the sport with others.

In her “other life” Lynn is a psychotherapist who specializes in anxiety disorders.
